When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Your IP address and general location

- The website or ad that referred you to the Site

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about a potential or existing matter
- Schedule and confirm consultations and appointments

4. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Using this Site, submitting the contact form, sending an email, or leaving a voicemail does NOT create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship with the Law Offices of Scott E. Rabaut is formed only when the Firm and the client both agree in writing to representation through a signed engagement or fee agreement.
Until that written agreement is in place, no information you send is protected as a privileged attorney-client communication, and the Firm has no obligation to take any action on your matter.
5. Limits on Confidentiality of Web Submissions
Please do not send time-sensitive, confidential, or highly detailed information about your case through the website form or by unencrypted email. Information transmitted over the internet is not fully secure, and, because no attorney-client relationship exists yet (see Section 4), details you submit before you are a client may not be protected by attorney-client privilege.
There is also a possibility that the Firm already represents another party in your matter, which could prevent us from representing you. The safest way to discuss the specifics of your situation is by phone at (586) 243-4140, where a live person is available, or in person after a conflict check. Share only what is necessary to make initial contact until we have confirmed we can represent you.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly, to remember your preferences, and to help us understand how the Site and our advertising perform. These include:
- Essential cookies that make the Site work.
- Analytics cookies that help us measure traffic and usage (see Section 7).
- Advertising cookies that help us measure and target advertising on third-party platforms (see Section 7).
Your choices. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. You can also opt out of certain analytics and advertising cookies using the tools described in Section 7 and Section 9. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the Site and our intake and marketing. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy. The main ones are:

- Email provider. Google delivers and stores email communications.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to comply with legal process, to protect the rights or safety of the Firm or others, or in connection with the sale or transfer of the practice.
8. Text Messages (SMS)
If you provide your phone number and consent, we may send you text messages related to your inquiry, consultation, or matter (transactional messages), and, only if you separately opt in, occasional informational messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving legal services. Your consent choices and mobile information are handled as described in this Policy and are not sold.
