Law Offices of Scott E. Rabaut
Effective date: April 1, 2026
Last updated: July 1, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of scottrabautlaw.com (the "Site"), operated by the Law Offices of Scott E. Rabaut (the "Firm," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Your use of this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship, and neither does submitting the contact form, sending an email, or leaving a voicemail. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when you and the Firm both sign a written engagement or fee agreement for representation.
Until that written agreement is in place, please do not send confidential or detailed information about your matter (see Section 2), and do not assume the Firm is acting on your behalf. If you have an urgent legal issue or a deadline, call (586) 243-4140 or seek counsel immediately rather than relying on a Site submission.
2. Communications Through the Site
Information sent through the Site or by email is not guaranteed to be secure or confidential, and, because no attorney-client relationship exists until representation is agreed in writing, it may not be protected by attorney-client privilege. The Firm may also already represent another party in your matter. Do not send sensitive case details until we have confirmed we can represent you. The best first step is a phone call to (586) 243-4140.
3. No Guarantee of Outcomes
The Firm cannot and does not guarantee, promise, or warrant any particular result in any legal matter. Every case is different, and outcomes depend on facts, evidence, and circumstances unique to each matter. Any discussion of Scott E. Rabaut's background, approach, or past matters describes prior experience only.
Past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future case.
Nothing on the Site should be understood as a promise or assurance about the outcome of your matter.
4. Attorney Licensing and Jurisdiction
Scott E. Rabaut is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan (P81391). The Site is intended for individuals seeking information about criminal defense representation primarily in Michigan.
The Firm does not seek to represent anyone in a jurisdiction where the Site or its content would not comply with that jurisdiction's laws or professional conduct rules. Information on the Site may not apply to matters outside Michigan. If you need help in another state, consult an attorney licensed there.
5. Informational Content Only: No Legal Advice
Content on the Site, including any practice-area pages, FAQs, and blog posts, is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. The law changes, and how it applies depends on the specific facts of each situation. Do not act, or refrain from acting, based on Site content without seeking advice from a licensed attorney about your specific circumstances.
While we work to keep the Site accurate and current, we do not warrant that all content is complete, accurate, or up to date, and we are not responsible for errors or omissions.
6. Testimonials and Case Information
Any client reviews, testimonials, or descriptions of past matters shown on the Site reflect the experience of specific individuals and specific facts. They are not a promise or prediction about your matter. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
7. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, the content on the Site, including text, page copy, graphics, logos, and layout, is owned by or licensed to the Law Offices of Scott E. Rabaut and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print Site content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Infringe the rights of others
- Transmit harmful code, spam, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems
- Misrepresent your identity or submit false information

The Site may contain links to third-party websites for convenience (for example, court resources, our State Bar profile, or review platforms). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. Following third-party links is at your own risk.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content is accurate or reliable.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Law Offices of Scott E. Rabaut, and Scott E. Rabaut individually, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or any Site content, whether based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Firm and Scott E. Rabaut from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
